What inspired the creators of hobbsgo.com?
My wife and I are software engineers. Three years ago, we moved to Lisbon, Portugal, for a new job. We also have our dog, Hobbs, and wanted him to accompany us.
We first called travel agencies, but they charged a lot of money. Also, we heard bad stories about pets getting stuck in quarantine in places like the UK because of missing papers. We didn’t want that for Hobbs.
So, we decided to handle Hobbs’s trip ourselves. We started contacting the Animal Quarantine and Certification Service(AQCS) and checking customs rules here in Portugal. It took us three months to get all the information ready. But in the end, we successfully brought Hobbs to Lisbon.
Because of our own experience, we created HobbsGo. We want to help other pet owners bring their dogs or cats abroad without problems. Our website educates you on how to plan the trip yourself. Is it difficult to travel abroad with a pet?

Yes, you can fly with your pet in the cabin if your dog or cat, including their carrier bag, weighs up to 8kg. Always contact your airline before booking to confirm pet in cabin (PetC) availability and specific carrier bag dimensions for their airline pet policy.
